Drew's Tasting Note

Classic Tuscan Sangiovese grape aromas of black cherry and raspberry on the nose. Deliciously complex black fruits with light tobacco, rich coffee and dark chocolate. Elegant rounded texture with a mouth-filling long finish. This is a superb example of Brunello from a great producer. Antipasti, tomato-based dishes or red meat dishes would match this wine.

The Winery

Pian delle Vigne has been part of the world-famous Antinori wine family since 1995. The estate is located southwest of Montalcino in Tuscany, Italy. The vines are grown in clay-rich soil with small stones, and the vineyard's exposure allows sea breezes to mitigate hot summer temperatures. The estate has adopted the philosophy of ageing in large casks that preserve the exceptional integrity of the Sangiovese grape and impart the characteristic vibrant elegance of Brunello to the wine. The Antinori family view this wine as their interpretation of Brunello di Montalcino.
