Bountiful aromas of fresh plum, blackberries and blueberries, with hints of thyme, cedar and spice. The palate is joined by dark chocolate and has a remarkable freshness. A long, smooth finish.

The Winery

Spread across three organically farmed estates in the shadow of the Andes, Chakana was established in 2002 by the Pelizzatti family. Their name, taken from an ancient Andean symbol, embodies a philosophy of giving back more than you take, a principle that runs through everything they do. Their home vineyard and winery, Finca Nuna, sits at 960 metres in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, while Finca Los Cedros and Finca Ayni occupy the cooler, high-altitude reaches of Paraje Altamira in the Uco Valley, a region celebrated for wines of exceptional freshness and precision. That wholehearted commitment to working with nature rather than against it earned Finca Nuna full Demeter biodynamic certification in 2016, and their Ayni Malbec was named one of the three best Malbecs in the world at the Decanter Wine Awards 2020.
