Drew's Tasting Note

An intense aroma of fresh strawberries and raspberries. A vibrant soft fruit palate of crushed raspberries and blueberries with mineral hints and spice. A refreshing crisp rosé with a bit of weight in the mouth gives it great depth.

Producer: Lucien Crochet | Vintage: 2022 | From: Loire Valley, France | Alcohol: 12.5 | Style: light-bodied rosé, still | Grape: Pinot Noir

The Winery

Lucien Picard and André Crochet, the grandfathers of Lucien Crochet, were both winegrowers. Lucien Crochet’s father merged their Sancerre estates, which became the Domaine it is today. Domaine Lucien Crochet owns vineyards in Bué that cover 26 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and another 9 hectares of Pinot Noir. The grapes are harvested by hand (a rare occurrence in Sancerre), and using naturally occurring yeasts adds to the aromas and flavours of these distinct and elegant wines.
