Drew's Tasting Note

Rich hedgerow black fruits meld with tobacco leaf and fresh herbs. Soft oak flavours linger on the palate. A beautifully crafted wine offering new flavours with each sip. I would recommend decanting before drinking.

The Winery

Situated in the Ribera del Duero, the legendary Spanish winery, Vega Sicilia, was established in 1864. The Álvarez family eventually bought the historic estate in 1982. The winery has steadily grown over the past thirty years and introduced wines produced in different winemaking areas. Spain’s equivalent of a first growth is Vega Sicilia’s flagship wine, Unico, whilst Valbuena No 5 is also held in high regard.
