Drew's Tasting Note

Rich hedgerow black fruits meld with tobacco leaf and fresh herbs. Soft oak flavours linger on the palate. A beautifully crafted wine offering new flavours with each sip. I would recommend decanting before drinking.

The Winery

Vega Sicilia is one of Spain's most legendary estates, established in 1864 in the Ribera del Duero and acquired by the Álvarez family in 1982. Under their stewardship, the estate has grown steadily, expanding into other winemaking regions across Spain. At the pinnacle of the range sits Único, widely regarded as Spain's equivalent of a Bordeaux first growth, alongside the equally celebrated Valbuena No. 5. Both have earned their place among the most sought-after wines on the Iberian peninsula.
