Returns Policy

This policy is solely for purchases made through Monty’s Wine Emporium at www.montyswineemporium.com and should be read in conjunction with our terms and conditions. “We”, “us”, and “our” refers to Montague Fine & Rare Wines Limited; “you” means the customer agreeing to this policy.

We refuse to sell or deliver alcohol to anyone who is, or appears to be, under the age of 18. By placing an order (in line with our terms and conditions), you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, and we and our couriers, reserve the right to ask for a form of ID or not to deliver the goods if we are unsure about the recipient’s age.

Alcohol will not be delivered to anyone who appears intoxicated. Please drink responsibly and refer to www.drinkaware.co.uk for more information.

Deliveries are not left unattended unless specifically asked to do so. If you request via email or in the comments section at checkout that we leave your order with no one at home, this is done entirely at your own risk, and any losses will not be replaceable.

Our UK shipping costs include duty and VAT.

National Deliveries (England and Wales)
Orders over £99.00 = Free
Orders under £99.00 = £9.99

National Deliveries (Scotland and Northern Ireland)
Orders over £250.00 = Free
Orders under £250.00 = £45.00

Please note that purchases made through our website cannot be delivered to the Scottish Highlands, Isle of Wight and Scilly Isles, the Channel Islands or destinations outside the UK. However, please contact us at drink@montyswineemporium.com if you wish to deliver outside the mainland UK. We are unable to ship to PO Box addresses.

In the event that any of the products in your order are incorrect, please let us know within 3 days of the day of delivery. We will provide a full refund or replacement for any wines which do not correspond with the wine described in your order. This does not affect your statutory rights. We may require such bottles to be returned to us. We will arrange this as necessary at your convenience and at our cost. However, if you handle the goods whilst they are in your possession in a way which would not be permitted in a shop (for example, by opening a bottle of wine or removing a seal), we will reduce your refund to reflect the reduction in the value of the goods.

If you want to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as you can at drink@montyswineemporium.com, quoting your Order Number. We may be able to prevent your order from leaving our warehouse, but there is a chance it will have already left. In this case, if you return your order to us within 14 days after the day of delivery, we will charge you the cost of collection, or you will have to pay the cost of returning your order to us. This will not affect the refund for your order. We will refund any charges for standard delivery but will not refund any charges paid in addition to our standard delivery charges for non-standard or enhanced delivery.
