The Winery

Celler Masroig is a community cooperative founded in 1917 in the village of El Masroig within the Montsant appellation of Catalonia. The original underground wine presses from that year remain part of the winery today. Profits are reinvested in the village, and the vineyards remain in the hands of the same families whose ancestors founded the cooperative, an arrangement that has kept both the land and the community rooted in their shared agricultural past. In addition to wine, the cooperative produces olive oil from Arbequina trees that grow alongside the vines. Their Les Sorts Vinyes Velles was named Best Red Wine in the World at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in 2025.
