The Winery

Champagne Bernard Robert is one of the Côte des Bar's long-established houses, founded in 1945 by Marie-Madeleine Dosne, from a family of red wine growers, and her husband Bernard, a former hairdresser. Their first harvest produced just 300 bottles. Three of their seven children, Jean-Pierre, Jean-Claude and Hervé, grew up to run the estate and, between 1976 and 1982, built the traditional vaulted cellars with their own hands, sourcing cut stone from demolished mills and farm buildings across the Aube. The third generation now tends 30 hectares across seven communes in southern Champagne, growing Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, with the wines aged in those same cellars.
