The Winery

The Champion family have lived in Chouilly in the Côte des Blancs for over 300 years. In 1942, Roland Champion took over the family vineyard at just 16 and, together with his mother, Simone, decided to vinify their own grapes for the first time. Trained by the cellar master of a prestigious Champagne house, Roland expanded the estate and its reputation over the following decades, establishing it as Champagne Roland Champion in 1972. His son François, who learned the craft directly from Roland, now leads the house alongside his daughters, Carole and Clémence, who returned from their studies abroad to carry the estate forward.
