A nose of ripe hedgerow blackberries and hints of spice. The ripe, firm vanilla oak is balanced with soft black fruit freshness on the palate. The finish is long and elegant.

The Winery

Château Cissac is a Cru Bourgeois owned by the Vialard family, yet this historic Haut-Médoc wine property dates back to 1769. Louis Vialard acquired the vineyard in 1940; his daughter Danielle has since taken over the winemaking and has also been joined by her daughter, Marie. The vines are planted on a bed of gravel over a limestone base and have an average age of 30 years.
