The Winery

The castle at Château des Tours dates to the 10th century, and the estate’s first recorded owner was Guichard VI le Grand, Lord and Baron of Beaujolais, who purchased it in 1331. For centuries, it served as an important trading post in the region. The Richard family acquired and renovated the estate in 1986. Château des Tours is one of the few Beaujolais estates with its entire vineyard within a single cru, 70 hectares, exclusively in Brouilly, planted on a mosaic of pink granite, muscovite granite, granitic sands and veins of black diorite. In the cellar, gentle extraction allows the character of each soil type to come through in the wine.
