The Winery

Vines have been cultivated at Château La Tour de By in the northern Médoc since at least 1599. In December 1965, Marc Pagès and partners Lapalu and Cailloux (repatriates from Tunisia in search of a promising terroir) acquired the estate and began its restoration. Emile Peynaud served as consulting oenologist from 1966, and the estate joined the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux in 1977. Today, it is run by Marc Pagès's grandsons, Frédéric Le Clerc and Benjamin Richer de Forges, and has been part of the Médoc Regional Natural Park since its creation in 2019.
