The Winery

The Brunel family are best known as the owners of Château de la Gardine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with their roots in the southern Rhône dating back to the reign of Louis XIV. In 1998, brothers Maxime and Patrick Brunel crossed the river to acquire Château Saint-Roch in Roquemaure, a 40-hectare estate in Lirac, a classified Rhône cru since 1947. The two châteaux now face each other from opposite banks. Eve Brunel, the family's winemaker, oversees production at both estates.
