Drew's Tasting Note

Rich, deep cassis and leather aromas. Worth decanting ahead of drinking, as there is an abundance of forest fruit and sweet oak flavours blended with notes of tobacco leaf that unfold deliciously in the glass over time.

The Winery

Château Trianon dates to the late 17th century, when, according to legend, an adviser to Louis XIV built the original estate and named it in homage to the Grand Trianon at Versailles. In 2001, Dominique Hébrard (previously a co-owner of Château Cheval Blanc) acquired the property and embarked on a thorough redevelopment of both the vineyard and the winery. Since 2017, the estate has operated in partnership with the Financière Immobilière Bordelaise (FIB). Across 14.5 hectares, the estate is planted mainly with Merlot, alongside Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and a small parcel of Carménère, an ancient Bordeaux variety that lends a distinctive character to the wines.
