The Winery

The Comte Lafond family have owned the most celebrated vineyards of Pouilly Fumé since the late 18th century, with Château du Nozet at the heart of the de Ladoucette estate. Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, the great-grandson of the Comte Lafond, took the reins in 1972, extending the family's reach into Sancerre under the ancestral Comte Lafond name and creating Baron de L (a rare single-vintage cuvée produced only in exceptional years), widely regarded as one of the finest Sauvignon Blanc wines in the world. The de Ladoucette wines are defined by elegance and finesse, befitting a family with two centuries of winemaking in the Loire Valley.
