Drew's Tasting Note

The carefully handpicked grapes of the hundred-year-old vines provide an abundance of wild strawberry aromas with cracked black pepper and fennel. Light vanilla, rosemary, thyme, and a hint of orange zest. A rich and elegant palate with fine tannins. Let it breathe to enjoy now. Les Genoux will only get better with age. This is quite literally "The Bee's Knees."

The Winery

In 2004, Master of Wine Justin Howard-Sneyd began his personal passion project and, with his wife Amanda, they purchased four hectares of vines in southern France’s Maury Valley. Rooted in some of the most desirable soils for fine wines - the valley walls are lined with limestone and black schist is found in the floor - the old vines are aged between fifty and one hundred years, primarily planted with Carignan and Grenache. Justin and Amanda are based in London, whilst their friend and owner-winemaker of Domaine de La Pertuisane, Richard Case, manages their vineyards.
