The Winery

When childhood friends Gian Luca, Giovanni and Pietro Ciani Bassetti grew up, they found themselves in different corners of the globe. In 2011, they returned to their hometown of Treviso in Italy to follow their true passion for winemaking. FIOL was created with the help of their friend and oenologist, Marzio Po, and has become a leading producer of prosecco in Veneto. As described by Gian Luca, Fiol is a word from 16th-century Venetian dialect that refers to a term of endearment for a son, and today it has been adopted as a term for the coolest guy in a group of friends. The trendsetter.
