Drew's Tasting Note

Refreshingly crisp green apple, pear, and stone fruits with nutty notes give a deliciously fresh creaminess from the time the wine has spent on its lees.

The Winery

Domaine de la Foliette was founded by Joseph Brosseau in 1926, though estate records date back to 1635. Based in La Haye-Fouassière in the heart of the Muscadet region, it specialises in Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur lie, the Loire Valley's signature style of extended lees ageing. Denis Brosseau took over from his grandfather in 1988. In 1996, Eric Vincent joined to manage the vineyards, with Denis continuing to oversee the cellar. Together, they farm 40 hectares with limited yields and careful grape selection, and have held Terra Vitis sustainable farming certification for over 20 years. Organic conversion is now underway.
