Alìe Rosé 2023

The Frescobaldi family has been making wine in Tuscany since the 14th century, making them one of Italy's oldest wine dynasties. Their influence on the modern Tuscan wine industry has been considerable; the family introduced then-unknown varieties such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Merlot to the region as early as 1855. Today, the family's vineyard holdings span nearly 1,000 hectares across nine estates in Tuscany, each with its own distinct terroir and character. This wine comes from Tenuta Ammiraglia, their estate in the Maremma of southern Tuscany, where the vineyards slope towards the Tyrrhenian coast and the summer heat is softened by sea air. Completed in 2011, the estate's distinctive winery, with its curved form rising from the hillside like the prow of a ship, was designed to sit lightly in the surrounding landscape. The wines made here are defined by their freshness and coastal character.
