Drew's Tasting Note

A mixture of blackcurrant, plum and vanilla toast on the nose. Complex black fruits, cracked black pepper, and mint chocolate flavours fill the mouth, finishing with a refined mineral note blended with soft tannins and rich blackberry pie. This would be a great companion if you enjoy a cheese board or delight in turkey or game dishes.

The Winery

Haras de Pirque traces its origins to 1892, when the estate was home to one of Chile's most celebrated racetracks, which still surrounds the vineyards today. It sits at the foot of the Andes in the Maipo Valley, some miles south of Santiago. The Antinori family acquired it in the early 2000s, when Marchese Piero Antinori was captivated by its natural beauty and potential. The first vintage, Albis 2001, was named after his eldest daughter, Albiera. Renzo Cotarella, CEO and Chief Winemaker at Marchesi Antinori, oversees winemaking, with all grapes grown organically and harvested by hand from the estate’s lowest-yielding vineyards.
