Drew's Tasting Note

Ripe blueberries and blackberries on the nose with some spicy notes. That fresh dark berry fruit liberally and gracefully fills your mouth, carried by silky smooth tannins. A luscious long finish.

The Winery

Haras de Pirque traces its origins to 1892, when the estate was home to one of Chile's most celebrated racetracks, which still surrounds the vineyards today. It sits at the foot of the Andes in the Maipo Valley, some miles south of Santiago. The Antinori family acquired it in the early 2000s, when Marchese Piero Antinori was captivated by its natural beauty and potential. The first vintage, Albis 2001, was named after his eldest daughter, Albiera. Renzo Cotarella, CEO and Chief Winemaker at Marchesi Antinori, oversees winemaking, with all grapes grown organically and harvested by hand from the estate’s lowest-yielding vineyards.
