Drew's Tasting Note

Layered aromas of blackberries, raspberries and plum, with hints of spice, mocha, dark chocolate, cracked black pepper, and floral notes. All this leads to a bright, juicy palate with soft, friendly tannins and a luscious, smooth finish. Perfectly drinkable now, with cellaring potential.

The Winery

Henschke has been making wine in Eden Valley since 1868 and is now in its sixth generation of family ownership. Fifth-generation winemaker Stephen Henschke and his viticulturist wife, Prue, have led the estate since 1979, building a reputation that extends well beyond Australia, particularly through their flagship single-vineyard Shiraz wines, Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone. Across biodynamically farmed vineyards in Eden Valley and the Adelaide Hills, Prue's work on soil health and biodiversity over several decades has been genuinely transformative, earning her induction into the James Halliday Hall of Fame in 2024. Stephen received the Winemakers' Winemaker Award in 2025.
