The Winery

Estela Perinetti was among the first of the fast-growing family of women winemakers to emerge in South America, and Las Estelas is very much her own project, built on a family vineyard with roots dating back to the early 1940s, when her grandfather, the son of a Piedmontese immigrant, planted Sémillon on a plot in El Peral, Tupungato, and named it Finca Mangato. By the 1990s, those vines had run their course, and Estela and her mother, Estela Armando (also a winemaker), replaced them with Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. After more than two decades leading some of Catena's most prominent winery projects and building a reputation as one of Mendoza's leading consultants, Estela has chosen to put down roots of her own at Las Estelas. The name honours three generations of women in the family, and the Leticia wine was inspired by one of Estela's daughters, Leticia, meaning joy in Latin.
