The Winery

Laurent Fayolle is the sixth generation of his family to farm in the northern Rhône village of Gervans. When the family domaine was divided in 2002, Laurent took charge of seven hectares of old vines (many over 60 years old) on the granite slopes on the far side of the hill of Hermitage. His first move was to convert the entire estate to organic farming, and his approach in the cellar is equally careful: soft extraction, concrete vessels, and minimal new oak, allowing the varied terroirs he farms (terraced granite and loess slopes, limestone, and river galets) to shine through in the finished wines.
