The Winery

Domaine Faury is a third-generation family estate in Chavanay in the northern Rhône. The family originally sold wine alongside peaches and cherries, but when Philippe Faury took over in 1979, he replaced the orchards with vines and dedicated the estate entirely to wine. His son Lionel has been at the helm since 2006, farming around 17 hectares of Syrah and Viognier across Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Saint-Joseph on the region's steep, terraced granite slopes. Lionel takes a low-intervention approach, using minimal new oak, native yeasts, and as little interference as possible between the fruit and the finished wine.
