Drew's Tasting Note

Intense aromas of ripe pear and peach with a hint of cream on the nose. Rich citrus and stone fruit flavours on the palate, with a layer of warm brioche and vanilla because of the ageing on the lees. Honeysuckle blossom on the finish.

The Winery

Bodegas Martín Códax was founded in 1985 in Cambados on the Atlantic coast of Galicia by a group of local winegrowers who shared a vision for what the region could produce. Named after the 13th-century Galician troubadour whose poems celebrated the sea and the Galician coast, the winery has grown from a collective dream into one of Spain's most respected producers of Albariño. Nearly four decades later, Martín Códax remains rooted in the people and landscape that inspired its name, and since 2023 has held the Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection certification in recognition of its commitment to the environment.
