Drew's Tasting Note

Ripe plum, wild strawberries, redcurrants, a little cracked black pepper and some liquorice. The juicy fruit is balanced by a lively, savoury character. The finish is long and satisfying.

The Winery

Mauricio Lorca once had his sights set on a career in medicine, but an introduction to oenology changed everything. What followed was a winemaking career that took him through some of Argentina's most respected cellars, and today he is regarded as one of the country's leading wine consultants. In 2002, Mauricio established his own winery in Luján de Cuyo, just outside Mendoza, and a 96-point score from critic Robert Parker has since brought his wines to the attention of wine lovers worldwide. Ever curious and driven in his ambitions, he has since extended his craft to Spain, working with vineyards in both the dramatic terraced slopes of Galicia's Ribeira Sacra and the stony limestone soils of Castilla y León. Drew has known Mauricio Lorca for more than 20 years and has always admired his winemaking.
