Drew's Tasting Note

A light floral nose of roses, whilst the mouth is filled with stone fruit flavours. Mango, peach, quince and a hint of flint. Delightful.

The Winery

Meinert Wines began in 1987 following Martin Meinert’s extensive exploration of the wine world. The Devon Crest vineyard had been previously planted in 1975, and Meinert built his winery on this 11.5-hectare Stellenbosch plot in 1990. In 1997, the first commercial vintage was released, and Meinert expanded his vineyard to its current 16 hectares with a parcel of vines planted in 1989. Meinert Wines uses natural yeasts during fermentation, and the wines are aged in French oak. Each wine is unique, personal, and often humorously named.
