Drew's Tasting Note

Fifty-year-old vines give this wine a delicious, delicate nose of white peach and pear. This wine has a mineral edge on the palate with fully-rounded pear and Cox’s apple flavours. Wonderfully fresh.

The Winery

Harvesting is done by hand using small picking boxes on the sloping vineyards of Domaine Nicolas Maillet in Verzé, Burgundy. The Domaine has been in the family for four generations, initially producing wine in the family cellar. However, for over 70 years, starting in 1928, their wine was produced at the Verzé village cooperative winery, returning to the family cellar in 1999. Many of the vines are over 50 years old, and the family care for their vineyards through organic and biodynamic practices. Their wines have been certified organic since 2008.
