The Winery

Andrew Peller arrived in Canada from Hungary in 1927, aged just 24, with little more than five dollars in his pocket. After years of building a life in his adoptive country, he planted his first vineyards and founded Peller Estates in British Columbia in 1961, later expanding to Ontario and Nova Scotia. Now run by the fourth generation of the Peller family, the estate has built a reputation as one of Canada's leading wine producers, with particular expertise in Icewine, made from grapes left to freeze naturally on the vine and harvested in the coldest months of winter, yielding wines of remarkable concentration and sweetness.
