The Winery

Domaine Philippe Livera, formerly Domaine des Tilleuls, was founded in 1920 in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin. Philippe Livera took over in 1986, before passing the reins to his son Damien in the late 2000s. Damien is now the fourth generation of Liveras to make wine here. Since taking charge, Damien has steadily pursued lower yields and more careful farming, ploughing the soils rather than using herbicides and relying on indigenous yeasts in the cellar. Across 8.2 hectares of almost exclusively Pinot Noir, spanning Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Côte-de-Nuits-Villages, the wines are aged in oak for 11 to 18 months, unfined and unfiltered, patient, honest Burgundy from a family deeply rooted in this village.
