Drew's Tasting Note

Initially sweet with strawberries and ripe honeydew melon, leading to a refreshing yet dry finish. Pleasant and playful effervescence. The low alcohol makes this a very morish rosé with lots of potential for cocktail mixing with citrus, herbs and spices.

The Winery

The Pizzini family's story began in Trentino, northern Italy, where Roberto and his brothers emigrated to the King Valley in Victoria in the 1950s, initially building one of Australia's largest tobacco-growing operations. As the tobacco industry declined, Roberto's sons, Alfredo and Rinaldo, diversified the business, planting the first vines in 1978. Alfredo's passion for the Italian grape varieties of his heritage led him to plant Nebbiolo, Sangiovese and a range of white Italian varietals in the years that followed. In 1994, he and his wife, Katrina, produced the first wine under the Pizzini label. Today, all four of their children, Natalie, Joel, Carlo and Nicole, work in the business, with Joel leading winemaking across a range that now spans many of Italy's most characterful varieties.
