The Winery

Prats & Symington was formed in 1998 when the Symington family partnered with Bruno Prats, former owner of the celebrated Château Cos d'Estournel in Bordeaux, with a shared ambition to produce a world-class dry red wine in the Douro. Their flagship wine, Chryseia - meaning "golden" in ancient Greek, as does "Douro" in Portuguese - was first released with the 2000 vintage and has since become one of the most respected Douro DOC wines, with Post Scriptum as its counterpart. Both wines are made at the historic Quinta de Roriz, a vineyard with records dating back to 1565.
