Drew's Tasting Note

Aromas of nectarine, apricot, and ripe banana, with notes of lemon zest and thyme. Rich and fresh on the palate, with a distinct yet delicate oak influence that adds texture, and a streak of minerality. A long and refined finish.

The Winery

Quinta de la Rosa is a small family estate in the heart of the Douro Valley, owned by Sophia Bergqvist, the only British woman managing a Port house. The estate has been in the family since 1906, when La Rosa was gifted to Sophia's grandmother as a christening present. The label was relaunched by Sophia and her father, Tim, in 1988. One of a handful of Douro estates where the vineyards run from the river's edge to the top of the mountain (climbing 450 metres through 11 different microclimates), Quinta de la Rosa produces small quantities of Port and table wine entirely on the estate, from vineyard to bottle.
