The Winery

The Eguren family have grown and sold grapes in Rioja Alavesa since 1870. Bodegas Sierra Cantabria was founded in 1957 when Guillermo Eguren realised the potential of making his own wine. Over five generations, the winemaking knowledge and traditions have been passed down through the family, and now brothers Marcos and Miguel Eguren run the estate with their sons. The vineyards at Bodegas Sierra Cantabria are mainly planted with Tempranillo, with some Garnacha and Graciano, and the family produce all their wines from their fruit.
