The Winery

Winemaker Norma Ratcliffe and her husband Stan established Warwick Estate back in 1964, but it was another twenty years before their first wine was released, La Femme Bleu, which was soon followed by the world’s first-ever Cape Blend, the Three Cape Ladies (which also featured in a 2011 James Bond novel). The vineyards at Warwick Estate include a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinotage, and Chenin Blanc, with each variety paired with particular soil types. With sustainability in mind and through the careful nurturing of the land and vines, the Ratcliffe Family have built a long-lasting legacy at Warwick Estate.
